Minister supports ICT Park's role in technology ecosystem

He stressed accelerating the allocation of land to the ICT Park’s Alborz, Mashhad and Isfahan sites, activating the underutilized assets, creating competitive advantages, and developing a targeted mechanism to support less-developed provinces.

Hashemi made the statements at a weekly meeting to review the performance of the ICT Ministry’s affiliated organizations dedicated to the ICT Parks.

Need to Accelerate Land Allocation

The Minister stressed the need to expedite the allocation of land at the ICT Park's Alborz, Mashhad and Isfahan sites and called for a clear implementation timetable for the process.

"The ICT Park must further strengthen its position within the country's innovation and technology ecosystem by creating competitive advantages," he added.

He highlighted the need for the ICT Park to move towards tapping the underutilized assets, and stated, "In implementing provincial support programs, special attention should be given to less-developed provinces.”

“By drawing on the successful experiences of other provinces, we can help foster the growth of innovation and technology ecosystems in these regions."

Referring to the growing number of requests from provinces seeking support for technology-based businesses, the ICT Minister also called for the development of clear criteria to prioritize provinces eligible for assistance.

"Given the limitations of available resources, support must be allocated based on expert criteria, actual needs, and established priorities," Hashemi noted.

He commended the ICT Park's achievements over the past year and said, "The valuable and transformative measures adopted over the past year demonstrate the beginning of a promising path that must continue with greater determination, cohesion and momentum."

ICT Park Reports Progress

Mostafa Mafi, Head of the ICT Park, presented his report on the implementation of decisions adopted during previous supervisory meetings.

He outlined the latest status of the Park's budget allocations, financial resources, organizational charter, and projects currently under implementation for 2025-2026.
